Chusa Exile Site

The old house of Chusa Jeonghee Kim (1786-1856), one of the most recognized Korean Artists during the Choseon era, is a destination calligraphers would not want to miss. During his eight-year exile to Jeju, he created the 'Chusa' penmanship (a peerless calligraphic style) as well as many of his famous paintings. At the Chusa Exile Site, there is a thatched house in which he resided for six months and a memorial hall named the Chusa House, which displays his writings and paintings.

O’sulloc Museum & Tea Stone

O'sulloc Museum is a tea museum where visitors can not only enjoy the unique O'sulloc teas but also participate in tea ceremonies with an expert tea sommelier. Here, you can see a vast green tea field and also teacups collected from all over the world.

Bonte Museum & Bangju Church

Bonte Museum, designed by world-renowned architect Ando Tadao, aims to explore the beauty of humanity through traditional and modern craftworks. It exhibits some of the most sophisticated traditional and modern artworks of Korea. Nearby is the Bangju Church, known as "Church of the Sky", built by Itami Jun. The church design was inspired by the biblical story of "Noah's Ark" ("Bangju" literally meaning "ark" in Korean). In 2010, the church was voted first place in the Korean Architecture Competition.

Spirited Garden

Spirited Garden is one of the most visited bonsai (miniature tree) gardens in Korea and has been visited by many famous people.
Over 50 years ago, this garden was created by a farmer, who designed each corner of the garden with persistence and creativity in hopes of providing visitors a place to meditate, reflect upon nature, or take a stroll.

O’sulloc Museum & Tea Stone

O'sulloc Museum is a tea museum where visitors can not only enjoy the unique O'sulloc teas but also participate in tea ceremonies with an expert tea sommelier. Here, you can see the vast green tea fields and also the teacups collected from all over the world.

Olle Trail #8 (Jusangjeolli Cliff ~ Baerinnae Oreum)

Olle trail route #8 continues along the coastline through Jusangjeolli, a formation of stone pillars piled up along the coast. The Jusangjeolli was created when the lava from Mt.Halla erupted into the coastlines of Jungmun. The end of the trekking course meets Baerinnae Oreum (volcanic cone) that goes through the deep valley of Cheonjeyeon.

Gujwa Coastal Road

A scenic drive along the coastline is one of the best ways to enjoy Jeju. The scenic road in Gujwa-eup offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean, Mt. Halla, and peaceful local villages. The Gujwa Coastal Road is one of the most popular roads for young couples.

Haenyeo Museum

"Haenyeos", literally meaning "sea women" in Korean, are female divers who gather marine products for a living without breathing equipment. They are known to hold their breath for astonishing lengths of time and go as deep as ten meters underwater. Their unique culture and lifestyle is in the process of being added to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The Jeju Haenyeo Museum introduces the unique culture of the Jeju Haenyeos and exhibits various photos of Haenyeo activities.

Jeju Folk Village Museum

Jeju Folk Village Museum has restored around 110 houses and facilities from the 1890's. It portrays a traditional Jeju village from the Choseon Era and was one of the main film locations of the well-known Korean historical drama, 'Dae-jang-geum'. The drama is about a non-fictional character, Jang-geum, who was the first female Royal Physician in Korea. In the drama, Jang-geum learns medicine as a maid in Jeju. A special 'Dae-jang-geum' theme is exhibited within the museum where visitors can relive scenes from the drama. Visitors can experience and learn the traditional culture of Jeju at this theme park.

Seogwipo Olle Market

Seogwipo Olle Market was formed in the early 1960s and is the largest market in Seogwipo today. The interior of the market has been re-designed in such a way that visitors can easily navigate through the shops and vendors. For customers' convenience, the market offers free delivery services as well as several food vendors where visitors can enjoy traditional Jeju food.

Lee Jung-seop Street

Jung-Seop Lee (1916~1956) is a famous Korean oil painter whose work is highly valued for representing the spirit of Koreans and his love of family during the nation's turbulent history, from Japan's colonial rule to the tragic Korean War. Lee Jung-Seop's Art Street, located in Seowipo City, holds a geographically significant meaning for many of his artworks as many of his greatest paintings, which are regarded as a hallmark of Korean modern art, were created during his stay at Seogwipo.

Olle Trail #7 (Oedolgae Rock ~ Dombenang-gil)

Olle Trail #7 course is a seaside walking trail from Oedolgae Rock to Dombenang-gil. Oedolgae is a sole standing rock off the seaside cliff. Ten meters in circumference and twenty meters in height, it has created several legends in Jeju. One legend is said that an old woman became the Oedolgae after waiting for her husband who was a fisherman, thus gaining the title Halmang (Grandmother) Rock. According to another legend, a general protected Jeju from Mongol invasion by disguising the rock as a monster, thus gaining another title as the Changgun (Admiral) Rock. From this trail, beautiful islands such as the Beom-sum, Sae-sum and Seonnyeo (Fairy) Rock can be seen.

The tuff cone was once an island but it is now connected to Jeju due to the sand and gravel washed from Shinyang Beach. As the name "Ilchilbong (Sunrise Tuff Cone)" suggests, the peak of the cone is a prime spot to view the sunrise. It was designated as a natural monument on July 19, 2000; a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site on July 2, 2007; a Global Geopark on October 1, 2010; and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature on November 12th, 2011.

Following the exhibition pathway, visitors will find stone sculptures such as the Grandmother Seolmundae and Five Hundred Generals, Dol Hareuabang (Grandfather stone statues), Bangsatap (small, round towers made of many stones that were believed to scare off misfortunes), and many more. Surrounded by beautiful nature, the park offers a look into the unique culture and history of Jeju.

Olle Trail #10(Songak San Dulle-gil)

Olle Trail #10 leads to Hwasun Beach, Mt. Sanbang, and Mt. Songak. This course offers some of Jeju's best panoramic scenery where you can view Mara-do (the southernmost island) and Gapa-do. On a clear day, trekkers can also see both Mt. Sanbang and Mt. Halla (the highest mountain in Korea) in one view.

Scuba Diving at Beom-seom

Beom-seom is one of Jeju's most famous diving spots, offering an unforgettable opportunity to experience various forms of marine life. The island gained its name "Beom-seom (Tiger Island)" as it takes the shape of a tiger lying down ("Beom" literally means "tiger" in Korean).
